Implementation Support for Logistics Automation Solutions

SoftBank Robotics Corp.

SoftBank Robotics Corp. (SoftBank Robotics) is driving logistics automation at the Kawasaki Office of SB Frameworks Corp. (SB Frameworks), located within the ESR Higashi Ogishima Distribution Centre. SB Frameworks manages the logistics center operations for SB C&S Corp. (SB C&S), a distributor of IT-related products.

Driven by the expansion of the e-commerce market and workforce shortages, automation has become an urgent priority across the logistics industry. To address these challenges, the Kawasaki Office adopted AutoStore™ to build one of the largest high-density automated warehouse systems in Japan, comprising 160 robots, 65,000 bins, and 28 workstations (ports). This implementation has significantly improved operational efficiency and accuracy. Furthermore, it has enhanced overall logistics quality by minimizing human errors and associated risks.

Leveraging its deep expertise across the logistics domain, SIGMAXYZ supported this initiative from the formulation of the project plan to its execution. This included providing comprehensive progress and issue management to ensure a smooth implementation process.

This initiative advances automation and workforce optimization on the logistics front lines, serving as a model case for the future advancement of logistics operations and the optimization of logistics networks.
SIGMAXYZ views this endeavor not merely as an efficiency improvement for an individual logistics hub, but as a significant step toward realizing the "Physical Internet," a framework where resources are shared across society. Utilizing the insights gained through this project, SIGMAXYZ will continue to support the transformation of companies and the broader industry toward the realization of the Physical Internet.
