INTEC Inc. (hereafter, INTEC) provides comprehensive services ranging from software development and network services to system maintenance and operations. The company has developed an advanced methodology for analyzing existing systems using generative AI, aiming to enhance the system maintenance services provided in its client projects. SIGMAXYZ has been supporting this initiative since August 2024, leveraging its knowledge of generative AI and expertise in systems integration.
The company's system maintenance services are highly challenging tasks that require ongoing modifications to adapt to changes in business while maintaining stable operation of the client company's core systems. In addition to understanding the specifications and design of the target system, personnel are required to have a wide range of skills, from understanding end-user operations to proposing improvements. In many cases, the service provision period exceeds 10 years, and it is not easy to maintain high-quality service provision while developing human resources. INTEC therefore embarked on a business transformation using generative AI technology.
In this initiative, SIGMAXYZ provided the latest information and trends on generative AI technology, and key points for applying it to practical work, and also analyzed the current situation through surveys of maintenance sites and interviews with key personnel to identify core challenges. We then led the design of the optimal methodology for solving the company's problems, incorporated generative AI technology, and applied it to multiple actual projects.
This methodology applies the high recognition and estimation capabilities of generative AI technology to create hypotheses about end-user business processes from the diverse information assets accumulated in the project, and clarifies the internal structure and state of the system through workshops between the relevant personnel. This systematizes the information necessary for maintenance work, reducing the burden of investigating and analyzing the impact of system modifications. In addition, by holding discussions and outputting from both the end-user and system perspectives, it is possible to draw out the broad range of tacit knowledge that each of the personnel possesses and improve the skills and perspectives of the entire team.
INTEC compiled the methodology into a paper and presented it at the International Conference on Quality 2025 held in September 2025. SIGMAXYZ also participated in writing papers and the presentation, contributing to the branding of the company's quality management and advanced use of AI. We will continue to support the company as it takes on the challenge of advancing its services by deploying this methodology company-wide.
