ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (hereinafter, CTC) has made “contributing to addressing climate change” one of its materialities (important challenges), and is aiming to achieve carbon neutrality as part of this. Based on this policy, the company has positioned supporting and promoting corporate GX (green transformation) as a new growth business, and is working to develop and provide services accordingly. From concept formulation to development and operation, SIGMAXYZ has been continuously supporting the project for around four years , having started working on it in 2021.

Since around 1990, CTC has been using its accumulated weather data analysis and simulation technology to provide renewable energy power generation companies with individually tailored support, including consulting and system development. Leveraging these technologies and know-how, in August 2022, it systematized a wide range of services that contribute to carbon neutrality and began offering them to more companies. These services include support for visualizing and reducing GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions, support for introducing and using renewable energy, and building platforms for utilizing related data. The company is working to further expand its promotion activities, a notable example being the October 2024 release of its “GX Advisory Service Starter Pack,” a service that quickly grasps the current situation and diagnoses issues.

SIGMAXYZ has been involved in this business from its inception, supporting the conception and planning phases in a wide range of areas including systematizing GX promotion services, developing the framework concept, designing the service menu, and formulating the business plan. We have also participated in developing designs that make the most of CTC’s strengths in data platforms and IT solutions. In addition to defining the requirements for promotional personnel and building the systems, we are also deeply involved in the actual operational work, including creating proposals and providing on-site support for providing the services. In this way, we are accompanying the business as a guide on its journey toward growth.

Going forward, SIGMAXYZ will continue to work vigorously with CTC to propose and implement solutions for customers working on GX, and contribute to the further growth of this business and to the achievement of carbon neutrality throughout Japan.
