MOL Logistics Co., Ltd.
MOL Logistics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “MOL Logistics”) which plays a central role in the international logistics operations of the MOL Group, has promoted the implementation of CargoWise, a logistics industry–specific SaaS solution provided by Australia’s WiseTech Global, with the aim of improving operational efficiency and advancing its services through digitalization.
In 2022, MOL Logistics and its overseas subsidiaries in three countries standardize their international ocean freight operations using CargoWise. (see the case study from that time here.) January 2025 the company will expand the system to include air freight operations at its Japan headquarters, as well as extend its implementation to additional overseas subsidiaries. As of now, approximately 70% of the total shipments handled globally by the company are operated on the CargoWise platform.
Standardizing operations and unifying systems through the introduction of CargoWise has enabled the company to build a business infrastructure that means it can rapidly respond to changes in the external environment and continue to evolve sustainably. One noteworthy change brought by the new environment is that the progress and revenue of each project can be checked instantly. Furthermore, centralizing import and export data among bases (overseas subsidiaries included) has significantly reduced the amount of data input work on the import side, and has also made it possible to do management governance that includes integrating, aggregating, and visualizing the data from each base.
SIGMAXYZ has been supporting the overall transformation initiative since the CargoWise implementation project began in 2021. Our support has included supporting business operations and EDI integration with peripheral systems. In this project, we have helped implement CargoWise across multiple counties and facilitated the accompanying business transformation based on the Fit-to-Standard approach, while also contributing to the smooth execution of the project as a whole by serving as its management office.
