Project Case Studies

In June 2022, the Cabinet Office publicly invited applications for the project “research project for developing and constructing advanced services and on data linkage for implementing advanced services, etc., in the Super City National Strategic Special Zone”. With University of Tsukuba as the representative organization, Kajima Corporation, CYBERDYNE, Inc., LEBER, Inc. , and SIGMAXYZ, Inc. jointly proposed the project “Realization of Inclusive Cities Utilizing Robots, IoT Sensors, etc.” and it was selected as the target project.

In this research project, SIGMAXYZ will work to verify the feasibility of using IoT sensors in home care settings to reduce the workload of medical and care workers and improve the quality of life of the elderly. In collaboration with Z-Works, a company that provides IoT-based smart home services, SIGMAXYZ will utilize the lifestyle and living environment data obtained from the care IoT sensors. In addition to streamlining the work of caregivers, we aim to provide services that are more closely tailored to the needs of the people being cared for by improving the sophistication of care plans.

In addition, through collaboration with overseas medical device manufacturers, we support the provision of data to family doctors using remote medical devices that are easy for non-medical personnel to handle. This leads to a reduction in the burden on medical personnel by achieving more advanced medical care and reducing the frequency of home visits, as well as to the independence of elderly patients at home.

In this research project, we will contribute to the co-creation and implementation of cutting-edge services that will lead to the realization of a super city-type national strategy, by leveraging our knowledge and network of advanced technologies, and our advanced project management capabilities.
